Wonderland

This weekend I saw "Alice and Wonderland" in 3D at the Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland. I had never seen a 3D movie in my whole life (weird, I know)! It was so awesome! Not only did I get to wear some super stylish 3D glasses, but the movie was super imaginative with beautiful imagery. I highly recommend it!

Zen in the midst of chaos

*all images from design sponge

Sometimes life feels like a series of chaotic events that crash into each other, well at least that's how my life feels. In the midst of this chaos I find some "zen" at home. There is something so calming about a place that is mine. My home design style is eclectic, I like everything from modern to shabby chic. It changes with my mood, but the one design aesthetic I always incorporate into my suurounding is Asian design. I like to keep pictures of my travels to Asia, of temples and statues. I also love hand carved wood pieces from China and Thailand and handmade tea sets and sculptures. There is something about the Asian culture that I have always connected with. I love the images above, because they are all great examples of bringing an ancient Asian element into a modern lifestyle.

To add some Zen to your life, try these items:

The Romance of Rock

I love a little rock and roll in my wardrobe and I am completely in love with this Springs romantic infused rocker pieces. These pieces blend the femininity of lace, gemstones, and beading. The color palette in basic black, crisp white, warm grey, peach, mauve, petal pink, and taupe. Accessories are decked out with studs, gemstones, and chains.

The romance of rock mixes the dark devious ways of the rocker with the delicate nuances of the romantic for a combination that is nothing but sexy.

Provencial Perfection

Last night my mom and I went to the book store to buy travel guides for Paris and the South of France so we could start planning our French vacation. We spent the evening daydreaming of flea markets, patisseries, and museums. I even practiced my French, which my mom did not hesitate to point out, is atrocious.

All the talk about France had me feeling the whole Provencal vibe, so here is an inspiration board to bring the South of France to you.

To achieve this look try these pieces:

Snow Sporting!

I spent the weekend snowboarding at Kirkwood. My work was sponsoring the Masters event so we all stayed at an amazing house right outside the resort with some awe inspiring mountain views. I stopped by the Master's event at the end of the last day and watched some seriously bad-ass riding. I also did two days of riding of my own and it was wonderful. There was a ton of powder and sun (I even got a little burnt-oops)! I also attempted some jumps for the first time off some mini kickers and did an OK job, even managing to land a few. But also managing to wrench my back and neck! I've got a long way to go!

I don't venture to Kirkwood very often but I have to say the drive was beautiful and just watching the rolling hills for hours made me feel so stoked to be living here in Cali. I attempted to capture the drive with some sorry cell phone pics (I forgot the camera) but they don't do it justice.

Roller Ladies!

This weekend was my roomie, Audrey's birthday. She is always silly and always into a themed party so this year the theme was Roller Derby! We got some of our finest and toughest friends and dressed in some ridiculous outfits and took the roller rink by storm! We practiced our roller dance moves and tricks and we also perfected our speed skating! It was a hilarious night and we had a blast!
